Stop! Catch yourself! That, right there – the moment when you finish work without reviewing your list, and then start work the next day without (re-)reviewing it, is the moment you lose track of your to do list.

The next thing you know you’ll be caught in the discipline death spiral, denied even the illusion of control over your life.*

Get back on the wagon! Find that last list! Date and write your next one. Keep the faith! Maintain the practice!

*Because, you know, it’s entirely possible that productivity is nothing more than a happy story we tell ourselves for comfort.
