Optimising what doesn’t matter

Most of us are experts at this. Things like:

  • Hours spent tweaking the layout of reports very few people are going to read;
  • Spending time on financial processes – rather than on finding the person who can make and run those processes for you;
  • Improving the quality of an already-solid product rather than finding ways to sell what you have.

What do you optimise that doesn’t matter? What should you spend the time on instead?
