There is a story: a person sets out with a particular set of skills to make a change in the world, and in the process discovers that the change they seek requires them to develop an entirely different set of skills and perspectives to the ones that they set out with.
You probably already have a set of technical skills. A place may already exist where you can apply them to the problem in question to full effect – if so, go to it.
If such a place doesn’t exist, congratulations: your new problem is gathering resources, finding colleagues, learning to tell the story in a way that convinces others. In short, you need to build your own place to stand.
