If you haven’t come across it yet, Jeremy Norman‘s HistoryOfInformation.com is absolutely tremendous. It contains “more than 5,000 illustrated entries covering a diverse range of the history of physical and digital information and media,” from the first industrial complex at Olduvai Gorge (c. 2.5 million – 500,000 BC) to Tim Berners-Lee Selling a Unique NFT of the Source Code for the World Wide Web (2021), via such delights as “How to Turn Your Pasta Machine into a Printing Press”.
Highly recommended.
